As I’m sure many of you already know, last week was Inbound Marketing Week. Marketing professionals from all around the globe gathered to share and learn about the newest marketing knowledge.
You might be shocked to know that SIXTY Inbound Marketing Week events were held nationwide—and one of them happened to be hosted by our very own San Diego Hubspot User Group.
The Speakers
The event, hosted at our usual locale of the Karl Strauss Brewing Company here in San Diego, included 7 different speakers from all sectors of marketing. In a series of conferences and workshops, they each imparted their marketing wisdom and expertise to all fellow marketing lovers.
The night started with our two key Hubspot speakers: Dan Tyre, a Hubspot marketing guru, who spoke on sales & marketing alignment (or “Smarketing”, as he likes to call it); and Mike Vittum– a Hubspot Customer Success Engineer, who showed us the value of the inbound campaign.

We then moved on to our local marketing experts, starting with Thad Kahlow, CEO of Business Online, and Sean Farias, Inbound Marketing Analyst at Business on Market St. Thad taught us about using “big data” to drive marketing ROI across all channels & campaigns, while Sean showed us how to craft an inbound marketing ecosystem right before our eyes.

Next up to bat were content marketing superstars Jon Wuebben, CEO of Content Launch, and Bridget Ayers, President of Get Smart Web Consulting. While Jon showed us how to build an infallible content marketing campaign, Bridget just how much putting a little pizzazz into a social media campaign can do.

Our night ended with a presentation by our keynote speaker and Co-Founder of the $100 MBA Program and Show, Omar Zenhom. Omar showed us that the name of the current game is quality content—not marketing.

The Band
In addition to the speakers, San Diego’s premier local band, Caliber, gave a fabulous performance. With their beautiful acoustic covers, the band set the mood for a great night of networking and learning.

The Sponsors
Sponsors set up booths around the grounds displaying their products and services. Our 2015 vendors ranged from coffee and break room supply vendors to a drawing and design company. On top of the generous donations to the event, they also provided “swag” that was given to each attendee.

The Food
The popular pizza restaurant Woodstock’s delivered their wonderful pizza including one with Sriracha sauce drizzled on top. As a perfect complement to the mouth wateringly delicious pizza, Karl Strauss supplied various beers on tap. The combination was the perfect touch to an already excellent event.
